THE BETTWS TRIANGLE ART AND MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Bettws Triangle is an art and music festival held over 3 days in June in the parish of Bettws y crwyn, set in the stunning landscape of the South Shropshire Hills. It is a celebration of local music making, local artists and the creative and supportive life thriving in our remote rural communities.
Our area is renowned for its lively music and arts scene. Most performers and artists are local, based in the Clun Valley and towns of Clun and Bishops Castle. They all have a regional following and some perform nationally and internationally.
Bettws-y-crwyn community is a mix of farming families and working and retired incomers all with different skills and interests. Farms and houses are widely spread but we regularly come together, enthusiastically engaging in a wide and varied range of events and activities as visitors and audience or as volunteers offering ‘hands on’ support. We have strong, inclusive social media and local community networks through which our activities are promoted.
The Bettws Triangle has become a yearly event. It is slowly developing and growing, welcoming in a broad range of musical talents, professional expertise and community singing groups and artists. It is managed and run by a growing group of volunteers and grounded in our supportive community.
As an event it is important for us to encourage a sustainable approach and in this we ask visitors to the event to consider the following:
- Reduce carbon emmissions: Please consider car sharing or cycling (if you like hills!!!!)
- We promote local businesses: We use caterers that have adoted sustainable practises.
- We recycle waste: Please take any waste back to one of the venues for disposing off or take home with you.
- ........and avoid plastic bags please.
- Publicity: We are committed to using as little paper as possible. What we do use is environmentally sound.
- Evaluation: We like to communicate with our volunteers our green initiatives and hope to improve on these in the future.
